Alexis Vallee, 8^th Grader, created a memorable bowl in Ms. Witschi’s Art class. On the bowl, it listed the names of the victims and the quote “When the Power of Love overcomes the Love of Power, the world will know PEACE”. She presented it to the Superintendent of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Congratulations to the following teams that competed in the 30th Annual Ohio Mock Trial Competition held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Justice Center in downtown Cleveland: 

Defense Team:  Alex Nemeth and Beth Schwartz, Attorneys; Dennis Cerny and Ian Mulhern, Witnesses

Prosecution Team:  Joe Menkhaus, Bradley Warner, Riley Contipelli and Avishi Shinde

Student registration for the Cuyahoga Heights Schools’ Pre-Kindergarten Program is now open for the 2013-2014 school year.  Children who will be four years old on or before September 30, 2013 are eligible for the pre-kindergarten program.  If you have a child, or know of a child in our school district that is eligible to attend next year, please call the elementary school office at 216-429-5880 to make an appointment for registration.  The Pre-Kindergarten program is open only to school district residents and there is no charge for the 2013-2014 school year.

When there is a new baby born in the district, we would like to know about it.  Please send the following information to the Superintendent's Office or call 429-5700:  name and address of the parents and name and birth date of the baby.  Thank you!

Congratulations to Nathan Schroeder and Mark Shafer, both 8th grade students, who were selected to display their artwork in Cleveland Hopkins International Airport's Youth Art Gallery.  The exhibit, entitled Fur, Fins & Feathered Friends, is scheduled to be on display from April 1 - July 31, 2013 in order to prepare them for installation.  The airport will frame and matt all artwork.  In addition, there will be an artist reception where the students will be recognized along with other art students and artists.
