Joe Nejman, his wife Melanie, and their two children Jonathon and Jenna have resided in Valley View for the past 14 years. Melanie is a registered nurse at the Cleveland Clinic for past 16 years and is an active volunteer for the Cuyahoga Heights Parent Teacher Organization. Joe is very active in the Valley View community, coaching both recreational and travel league baseball teams, as well as indoor and outdoor soccer teams in Valley View, for the past 10 years.
Joe has been an Internal Auditor for over 25 years. He is the current Internal Audit Director at a publicly traded manufacturing and sterilization services company where he has been employed for over 10 years. Throughout his career, he has also held various Internal Audit positions within financial services and health insurance organizations. Joe holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Cleveland State University and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Information Systems Technology from Cleveland State University. Joe is a member of the Cleveland State Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for high scholastic achievement at collegiate schools of business. Joe received post-graduate study certificates from Case Western Reserve University for completion of their Leadership Deep Dive program (2009 - 2010) and from Xavier University for completion of their Medical Device Leadership program (2015-2016)
Joe holds certifications as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), and Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). Joe is a current member of the Board of Governors for the Northeast Ohio Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), serving in this capacity since 2014, and was the President of the Northeast Ohio Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) from 2012 to 2014. Joe also served on the Board of Governors for the Northeast Ohio Information Systems and Audit Control Association (ISACA) from 2006 to 2010 and served as the Northeast Ohio Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA) President from 2005 to 2006.
Joe has presented to both the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Information Systems and Audit Control Association (ISACA) on a variety of Internal Audit topics, as well as data analytics, and has taught the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exam preparation courses.
The Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education appointed Joe Nejman to fill a vacant position, effective
October 4 to December 31, 2017. In addition, he was elected to a four-year term as a board member commencing January 1, 2018.
