On Friday, March 31, the Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School hosted an Art Show and Family Game Night for students in preschool through fifth grade and their families. This free event was sponsored by the PTO and staff of Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School. This is the second year that the schools have hosted this fun and interactive occasion, drawing about 300 people in attendance. The Cuyahoga Heights PTO provided snacks, while teachers and staff members donated games that were presented in a free raffle for all the children. A 50/50 raffle took place with proceeds going to help support the PTO which raised approximately $500 for the organization.
Throughout the night, students' artwork was displayed in the cafeteria and hallways. Parents and students had the opportunity to admire the "art gallery" throughout the entire evening. Also during the night, families were encouraged to put down electronics, sit down and play games together. Some activities included, BINGO in the gym, ping-pong in the hallway, crafts, a play area, puzzles in the kindergarten room, and many board games for families to choose from. All in all, the purpose of having an Art Show and Family Game Night for the CHES community was to gather families into the building and spend time together through viewing the art work of students and creating fun, lasting memories of playing games together. This wonderful night could not have been possible without the help and participation of all the teachers, staff and parent volunteers. The CHES thanks everyone for making this year’s Art Show and Family Game Night another great success. The entire Cuyahoga Heights school community looks forward to hosting more events that bring students, families and staff together.
