Cuyahoga Heights Schools Performs Well on 2016-2017 State Report Card

The Ohio Department of Education recently released the results of school district performance on the State Report card for the 2016-2017 school year. The state’s Local Report Card gives our community a snapshot of the progress of the Cuyahoga Heights Schools in raising achievement and preparing our students for the future. It is one of several tools that the district uses to measure our schools’ performance and growth across various curriculums. Generally speaking, the district demonstrated student achievement and growth across a variety of indicators for the 2016-2017 school year. Below you will find a brief summary of the districtwide highlights for the Cuyahoga Heights Schools on this year’s Local Report Card results.

Achievement (Indicators Met) - Grade B: This metric is an overall summary of achievement level for each subject test; Cuyahoga Heights Schools met 20/24 indicators.

Performance Index- Grade B: This metric measures the achievement level of every student; the performance index measures how well individual students performed on English Language Arts and Math tests.

4-Year & 5-Year Graduation Rates- Grade A: This metric reflects 4-year and 5-year graduation rates.

Overall Value Added (Progress) - Grade A: This metric reflects growth of a student in a one-year period of time. The CHS maintained an “A” rating from the previous school year. Excellent work demonstrated by everyone involved!

Gifted Value Added- Grade A: This metric reflects the growth of our gifted student population in a one-year period of time.

Students in the Lowest 20% Achievement Added- Grade B: This metric reflects the growth of our students identified as the lowest 20% statewide in Reading, Math, Science or Social Studies achievement.

Student with Disabilities Added- Grade C: This metric reflects the growth of our students with disabilities.

K-3 Literacy - Grade C: This metric reflects how successful the school is at getting struggling readers on track to proficiency in third grade and beyond.

Prepared for Success- Grade C: This metric evaluates multiple measures amongst our graduating seniors from the graduating classes of 2015 and 2016 and determines how prepared they are for their post-secondary world.
