Cheerleaders Perform at Jacob's Pavilion!

 The football cheerleaders were invited to perform at Third Federal's Associate Appreciation Event held at Jacob's Pavilion in the Flats on Saturday, August 8th at 8:00pm. They prepared a dance to the 70's hit Saturday Night Fever, which was sung by the live band that night. Also in attendance at the event were the CAVS cheerleaders and the CAVS scream team.

Congratulations, Samantha Rodriguez, on Winning the R.B.I. World Series!

Samantha Rodriguez and her Cleveland R.B.I. Fastpitch Softball team won the R.B.I. World Series with a record of 11-0 through the Regional and World Series games, bringing home the first Championship to Cleveland.  Congratulations, Samantha!

Varsity Cheerleaders Attended UCA Cheering Camp

The Varsity Football and Basketball cheerleaders attended UCA Cheering Camp at Ohio State University July 21-24.  They earned four Superior Ribbons and two Excellent Ribbons for various routines performed at camp, in addition to being awarded The Most Improved Squad Trophy and a Plaque for Inspiring Leadership on and off the Field.  Lastly, six girls from the squad were nominated by Coach Wendy DeFranco to try out for the UCA All American Team and of that six, Freshman Lauren Adamo and Sophomore Nina Ventura made the squad and have the opportunity to participate in special events.  Lauren can march in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade November 24-27 and Nina can attend the 2015 London Varsity Tour December 26-January 2.   Congratulations to both Lauren and Nina!

Youth Night at Varsity Football Game on October 9th

Youth Night will be held on Friday, October 9th at the Varsity Football Game.  The Valley View youth cheerleaders and flag football players will wear their uniforms and get free admission into the game.  The youth cheerleaders will be able to sit with the CHS cheerleaders throughout the game and cheer with them on the field during the third quarter.

Girls on the Run Group Participates in 5K

Girls on the Run inspires girls to be healthy, joyful, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Our students participated in not only the curriculum, but also practiced running two days a week throughout the fall. They also did a community service project before running in the Greater Summit 2014 5K Challenge. A special thank you to Mrs. Satterlee, Mrs. Cameron, Mrs. Harvan, and Mrs. Wallace for leading the Girls on the Run program this year!

2013-14 State Report Card Released

The report card your child brings home should give you a good idea of how your son or daughter is doing in school.  The Ohio Department of Education released the new Ohio School Report Card last week.  The Cuyahoga Heights Schools ranked 58th in the State out of 881 public school districts, charter schools, and academies.  We are in the top 7% of all school districts in Ohio. Congratulations to our high performing students and our excellent teaching and support staff.  Throughout the 2014-15 school year, we will continue to provide you with further information on the school district evaluation system so you will have a better understanding of what it means.   View the results of our school district HERE.

Our paper recycler will now be River Valley Recycling.  Their green bins are in the same location as the former recyclers, and have the sun and flower logo on them.  We will now accept FLATTENED cardboard and books.  Click here to view the entire list of acceptable items.
