Summer Meals for Kids

During the school year, 30 million children in the U.S. receive lunch through USDA’s National School Lunch Program. Of these, 21.4 million children receive their lunch at a reduced-priced or at no charge.  Yet when school lets out for the summer, only 3.8 million children participate in the summer meal programs.
